Lights on Covid: How the pandemic changed the stage

This video is a self-directed project, which was edited using Adobe After Effects. During this project, I worked with the lighting director Nick Casella, and the students of the theater department of MSU, to bring the behind-the-scenes to the production for their interpretation of Julius Caesar. This video focuses on the hardships of film production that the theater students faced and overcame during the pandemic, as well as the effect that lighting brings to the atmosphere of the play on-set.

Vote Your Voice

'Vote Your Voice' is produced by Rose Legge as an effort to familiarize citizens with important information on the voting system. I was a part of the creation of this wonderful project as a video compositor alongside other producers. During this project, I edited and animated clips used in the video with Adobe After Effects, which then was projected on the wall of Eli Broad Museum of Art. ASL Project

American Sign Language (ASL) project is a part of the Untold Stories project produced by the students of Michigan State University to increase the awareness of the importance of sign language for the differently-abled. I was given several clips to go over and edit on Adobe After Effects. For more information on this project, plea visit:

Yae Miko | Fan Art

In this project, I focused on rendering the character in detail and delivering an aesthetic composition implementing the golden ratio and the rule of third. One of the biggest challenges was getting the anatomy correctly from a dynamic worm's eye perspective due to a poor planning phase. Having a rough sketch rather than a full fleshed-out and detailed sketch resulted in an unnecessary increase in the rendering time. This experience taught me the importance of a strong foundation when delivering a piece with a deadline.

Diner

"Diner" is a work commissioned by a patron. The goal I had in creating this piece was to deliver a light-hearted scene of our two main characters having a date at the diner while juxtaposing that with a background showing the chaos of a zombie apocalypse. In order to achieve the story-telling elements of this piece, I referenced my knowledge from films as well as keyframe illustrations from other artists that I studied.

Angel of Mercy

"Angel of Mercy" is a work commissioned by a patron. The mission of the piece was to deliver the commissioner's in-game character to life. However, due to personal choices of design elements, the two models were instead used as inspiration for the final render of the piece. This step required me to communicate thoroughly with the commissioner and explain my process through several rough sketches and compositions. I decided to use the worm's eye view to give a majestic feeling to the viewers while using the wings to envelop the character and lead the viewer's attention to the character model.
